Engineering News Record recently released it's list of the top 500 design firms in the United States. Our valued investor, HR Green, is now ranked at 185. In addition, HR Green, orginally founded in 1913, will be celebrating its 100th anniversary.
With offices throughout the U.S., HR Green provides engineering and technical services to clients in transportation, water, governmental services, senior living and energy.

McHenry, IL- Chroma Corporation was awarded the McHenry County Business Champion Award during the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation’s. Annual Dinner on October 11, 2012. The McHenry County Economic Development Committee awarded Chroma Corporation the prestigious award for growth and innovation.
Chroma Corporation was awarded the Division 3 award over 14 nominees for large businesses that employ more than 100 people. The award was presented at the annual MCEDC dinner with over 400 leaders of small businesses in the local Community.
The 45- year-old company added 13 pieces of equipment over the last two years to its McHenry production facility to activate a quicker turn around and implement shorter lead times on its growing small-order segment of the business. Tom Bolger, Chroma’s President and CEO, said the company’s green technology has allowed it to reduce its carbon footprint and Chroma is continuing to invent products requiring less energy to be produced.

Chroma Corporation is a global thermoplastic compounded raw material leader and offers the broadest range of custom color, special effect, and specialty additives in master batches and precompounded products in commodity and engineering thermoplastic resins for extrusion, injection molding, blown film and a multitude of other processes and applications including rotational molding. McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is accepting nominations for the 2012 Business Champion Awards. In its fifth year, MCEDC recognizes outstanding companies who have made a positive impact on McHenry County’s economy and who are exceptional primary employers. (A primary employer is defined as the one creating a product or service that is principally sold outside of a region, thereby generating new money and profits into the region. Examples include manufacturing, back-office operations or service centers, corporate headquarters, distribution facilities and research and development to name a few.)
Nominations categories are based on the number of employees - small -24 or less, medium – 25 to 100, and large - over 100. Judges are business leaders from outside of the county. All nominees are introduced during the MCEDC Annual Dinner October 11, 2012 at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake, with the three 2012 Business Champions announced and presented at that time.
Pam Cumpata, MCEDC President stated “MCEDC’s previous Business Champions – Other World Computing, Dordan Manufacturing, Joule Technologies in 2011, Scot Forge, Jan Air, Astro Craft in 2010; Medela, Millennium Electronics, Stan’s Office Technologies in 2009; Pioneer Center for Human Services, Prairie Ridge Media/McHenry County Living, & New Concepts Development Corporation/Other World Computing in 2008 are all exceptional primary employers and valuable corporate citizens. We look forward to adding to this prestigious list of McHenry County employers”.
