United States Senator Mark Kirk met with over 80 member/investors of the McHenry County EDC this morning (April 19th, 2011) at the MCC Shah Center.
McHenry County EDC’s Legislative Committee Chairman, Tom Zanck, commented that it is vital for the business community to have an opportunity to hear from our legislators in person. “McHenry County EDC not only presents opportunities for our investors to meet with Federal and State legislators here in the county, but also travels to Washington & Springfield several times a year highlighting issues of concern to the business community and the needs of McHenry County.” Zanck said that Senator Kirk’s presentation was extremely detailed and informative and provided insight into many extremely important issues facing our country. “Our investors were especially pleased at how candidly the Senator answered their questions, especially the financial ones”. Pam Cumpata, McHenry County EDC President , stated “our investors were appreciative of the high level of his presentation…sort of CEO to CEO… and that Senator Kirk didn’t just outline problems, but provided suggestions on how our challenges could be overcome”.
MCEDC will be hosting it’s Annual Legislative Breakfast on June 9th, 2011 at Woodstock North High School. Reservations are required. Congressman Don Manzullo, Congressman Joe Walsh, State Senators Pam Althoff and Dan Duffy and Representatives Mark Beaubien and Mike Tryon have confirmed their participation.
