No-cost Employee Assessments for Area Businesses

McHenry County Workforce Investment Board partners with McHenry County College to offer no-cost employee assessments to area businesses

 

Many of us are familiar with ACT, widely known for College testing, but do you know that ACT offers assessments that can impact your workplace in a very positive way?  The newly expanded National Career Readiness Certificate – Plus is a comprehensive, evidence-based solution to help you meet the rapidly evolving workforce needs of our new economy.

To experience firsthand how NCRC Plus can assist in your recruitment and staff development needs, ACT is offering at no-cost (to you or your business) the NCRC Plus testing to interested McHenry County employers.  Your business may be eligible to have 10 – 20 of your employees receive the free assessments that will be scheduled to best accommodate your needs.

Should this past legislative session get a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”? What was accomplished concerning state budget, revenue, current and future pension issues, payment of outstanding bills owed by the State of Illinois?

How did the Legislature accomplish significant Medicaid reforms? Does this stabilize the State’s health care system? Does it have any impact on governmental and private sector retirees?

Were plastic bags and wrap really an issue? Gambling expansion and cigarette tax?

And what are the major open items for summer or veto sessions or after the election?

Republican Representative in the 64th District, Michael W. Tryon, was first elected to the Illinois House in November, 2004. He currently serves on the Mass Transit, Healthcare Availability Access, Least Cost Power Procurement, Environment and Energy, Local Government and the Smart Growth and Regional Planning Committees of the State Legislature. Former President of the McHenry County Board, he is a Principal in an environmental testing lab.

State Representative Elaine Nekritz (Democrat) is serving her fifth term in the State House. She is Chair of the Personnel and Pension, Judicial One – Civil Law and Special Investigating Committees, she is Vice-Chair of the Pension Investment Committee and she is a Committee member of Transportation, Regulation, Roads, Environmental Health, Housing and Property Sub-Committee and Railroad and Air Transportation Sub-Committee.

Cosponsored by the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation, the luncheon is at noon at the University Club, 76 E Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60603. The cost of the lunch and program is $48 for EDC and MCEDC members and $65 for non-members. There is no charge for EDC Corporate and Sustaining Members.
